  20. Double packets should be harmless, but they do slow down the transfer.  It
  21. can happen when a packet is retransmitted for some reason (timeout, etc)
  22. and the Kermit program does not follow the recommended procedure for
  23. non-windowed transfers and clear its input buffer after receiving the
  24. desired packet.

  26. You did not say what software you are using, but to the best of my
  27. knowledge all Kermit software from Columbia University recovers from
  28. double-packet syndrome automatically and quickly.
